Removeable Cap Bolts

Note how the self-lubricating composite material can move in many different directions and still maintain a level position with the side rails. No other system that we are aware of can do this.  All composite 15k and 25k 5th wheels are machined and designed with multi direction sockets. In over two years of commercial towing, less than .005 wear factor (aprox. 200,000 miles).

The competition can only move up and down with air control, they can achieve 4 or 6 way action with the use of a mechanical left-right (Swivel) anvil but their air control is only up-down. If it swivels side to side, it is mechanical, not “True Air”, and transfers velocity, uncontrolled by air springs. That is one reason why we have “True Air” 6 Way Action (actually over 8 ways). We really can offer the “Smoothest, Safest” ride because of our “True Air” Technology.

Also note the four bolts in the top of the tracks, if you should ever have a problem (and you shouldn’t) just remove the bolts and have access for repair or cleaning.

Note the bolts in the top of the rails.
Makes it easy to clean the channels.

Note that our self-lubricating composite (green) surrounds the whole interior of the hitch. This gives a lot of surface and the precise machining means controlled movement inside the tube. Our competition uses systems that cannot be machined to the precise tolerances therefore causing slop inside the tube which will eventually make wear patterns that deteriorate their effectiveness. Their hitches also have to be taken apart on a regular basis for lubrication and cleaning.  Why go through all the hassle, our hitches last forever with minimal maintenance and smooth travel.

Complete Surface Contact

Due to some misleading information posted on a competitors website, we are providing additional information on our composite material. I don’t know if they are just not educated on these new materials (over 30 yrs. old and still claimed to be the best bearing material available, tried and tested in a broad specrum of industries) or if by flaming us they feel they can they can discredit our product and sell you a hitch that does not have “True Air” 6 way action.

Either way, I have given you information and links, so that you may read and make your own decision regarding the best composite materials on the market today.

The composite material we use is Nycast Nyloil (Trademarked by Nycast).

Information below has been copied from the websites listed below. Very interesting reading if you have a few minutes.

NYLOIL®
NYLOIL® provides the exceptional reliability of ordinary cast nylon but also offers superior notched load impact, elongation, coefficient of friction, and reduced water absorption. This grade is also the only internally lubricated nylon available in three grades tailored to specific uses: anti-friction applications, food processing applications, and high-load applications. Though long-lasting, NYLOIL® also scores high in machinability. It can be free-cut and requires no more machining skill than ordinary nylons. In addition, NYLOIL® can be run without additional lubricants (with low heat build-up), works efficiently in marine applications, and does not require bearing seals.

Nyloil has been specifically developed to combine a low coefficient of friction with the stability and durability of conventional nylons. This has been achieved through a unique manufacturing process, which permanently bonds a lubricating oil into the material structure.

Compared with natural and MOS2 filled nylons, Nyloil can withstand high speeds and unit loadings and bearing life can be increased significantly. With its free machining properties and resistance to creep Nyloil could be the economical solution to your bearing problems.

Main characteristics:

  • Coefficients of friction, typically half that of other lubricated nylons.
  • A stable, oil impregnated structure with high resistance to water absorption.
  • Hardness, durability and creep resistance comparable with conventional nylons
  • Free cutting properties, for tighter machining tolerances and smoother finish
A cast nylon with built-in oil lubrication, Nyloil® provides superior machinability, performance and durability compared to other plastic materials. The oil lubricant is completely and evenly dispersed within the cast nylon material, ensuring consistent wear and lubrication over the life of the part. And, because of the oil filler, Nyloil® has lower water absorption (and is more dimensionally stable) than unfilled nylons. Nyloil® is designed for use in gears, bearings, bushings, wear pads, guides, scraper blades, sleeves, and other demanding bearing & wear applications.
